Exhaust Tubing (2 1/4") - 304 Stainless Steel Tube (.065 Wall) Order By The Foot
LC Engineering sells stainless tubing for your project. Ranging from 1½” to 3” with 304, 321, and 409 alloys to choose from, your tubing is just a phone call away. 304 is the most inexpensive and available stainless steel in the 300 series. It is suitable for normally aspirated header applications, and has been successfully used by many racing teams. It does not have the high temperature fatigue resistance that 321 does, but is considerably less costly and much more available. 321 is known as a stabilized grade of stainless. This is alloyed with titanium, which has a much stronger affinity for carbon than does chromium at elevated temperatures. This eliminates carbide precipitation leaving the chromium where it belongs for corrosion protection. 321 is a top choice for exhaust headers, especially turbocharger systems. 409 stainless is a great low-cost choice for exhaust systems. This is the same grade of stainless steel that we use in our Pro Flow exhaust systems. 409 is the perfect alternative to your typical aluminized pipe that most exhaust systems are constructed of.
