1016187 5VZ Supercharger Pulley is 2.1" normally will give approximately 1-1.5 PSI more
boost over the 2.2" pulley. This should be used with 93 octane fuel
minimum or used for vehicles at high elevations.
The SuperGrip Supercharger pulleys for the 5VZ TRD Supercharger use an advanced design to enhance performance, reduce belt slippage and extend supercharger belt life.
The SuperGrip Supercharger pulleys are smaller than stock and increase the impeller speed and boost pressure to the engine. When this is combined with the proper fuel upgrades and tuning you will have increased performance.
The TRD Supercharger for the 5vz uses a small 4 rib drive belt. Transfering the torque needed to drive the supercharger from a 4 rib becomes more difficult when the pulley size is reduced. To address this problem the SuperGrip design is used.
The SuperGrip design has three advanced features to enhance belt traction.
- Tall outer ears
- Modified rib profile
- Slit and hole design
The tall out ears grab the outside edges of the belt and make the 4 rib belt act like a 5 rib belt for greater traction and torque transfer.
The modified rib profile improves the contact pattern between the ribs and the belt for greater traction and torque transfer.
The slits and vent holes in pulley gives the air that can get trapped between the belt and pulley a way to escape to the bet stays nice and tight against the pulley and eliminates a "hydroplaning" effect. This gives the best possible traction and torque transfer.
These features result in the most advanced supercharger pulley design available and really makes the pulley look awesome!!

Note- The TRD Supercharger for the 5VZ-FE 3.4L engine uses a slip fit type pulley that is held on with a shaft nut. It does not require the use of the Press Fit Pulley Tool.
