Pro Head Studs
LC Engineering always recommends replacing the old used head bolts with new ones to ensure the correct head torque. The ARP 5VZ Cylinder Head Stud Set is a must for engines with increased cylinder pressure from high compression, nitrous oxide, turbocharged and supercharged applications. Made from 8740 Chromoly Steel, these studs test out at over 190,000 psi Tensile Strength.
NOTE: There will be four studs that are approximately .200" or 5 mm shorter they will be installed under the cam gears. When installing the studs into the block, you will get them snug tight only. There is no torque value for the studs only for the nuts. Stock replacement Cylinder Head Bolts for stock engines can be found here. Sold as a set of (16).

Installation:
- Chase all thread holes before installing. Use 11mm x 1.25 tap to clean threads in the block. Make sure each stud threads into block all the way.
- Be sure to check thread pitch to make sure correct end goes into block (Allen head faces out).
- Install main studs in block with 3/16 Allen wrench Snug tight. Do not torque.
- 4 studs are kitted separate. These studs will go under the camshaft drive gears in the head and are .200 (5mm) shorter than the other 12 studs 5.Install head over studs. Install washers and nuts on studs, torque nuts to 75-80ft lbs using ARP Moly or Ultra-Torque lube or equivalent. Be sure to use factory torque sequence.6.After installation and torquing of head install camshafts and verify cam gear stud clearance.
