Pro Head Studs
LC Engineering always recommends replacing the old used head bolts with new ones to ensure the correct head torque. The ARP 5VZ Cylinder Head Stud Set is a must for engines with increased cylinder pressure from high compression, nitrous oxide, turbocharged and supercharged applications. Made from 8740 Chromoly Steel, these studs test out at over 190,000 psi Tensile Strength.

- 1995-2004 5VZ 3.4L Engines
Installation:
- Chase all threaded holes before installing. Use 11mm x 1.25 tap to clean threads in the block. Make sure each stud threads into the block all the way.
- Be sure to check the thread pitch to make sure the correct end goes into the block (Allen head faces out).
- Install studs into the block with 3/16 Allen wrench, get them snug, but do not torque them down.
- Install washer and nuts on studs, torque nuts to 75-80ft lbs using ARP Moly, Ultra Torque lube, or equivalent. Be sure to use factory torque sequence.
- Studs under the cam gears should be flush with the head of the nut when tightened properly. Make sure threads and stud holes are properly cleaned and tapped, making sure all debris is clear
- After Installation and the heads are torqued down, begin reinstallation of the camshafts.
