The second-generation Toyota Tacoma (2005–2015) is the longest-running Tacoma generation, with eleven model years of production behind it. It carries two engines: the 2TR-FE 2.7-liter four-cylinder (a continuation of the 1st gen 3RZ family architecture) and the 1GR-FE 4.0-liter V6 that replaced the 5VZ-FE as the V6 option. The 2nd gen is the truck that established the Tacoma as the dominant midsize platform in North America, and there is a very large active-driver population still on the road today.
