The third-generation Toyota Tundra (2022–present) is the most significant Tundra platform change since the truck launched in 2000. The new V35A-FTS 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 replaces the 5.7L iForce V8 — a fundamental shift from naturally-aspirated displacement to forced induction. The i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain pairs the same V35A turbo block with an electric motor for the higher-output trim. The 3rd gen also moves to the TNGA-F body-on-frame architecture shared with the new Tacoma, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, and the 6th gen 4Runner — Toyota's unified truck and large-SUV platform.

This is the first turbocharged Tundra in the platform's history. The intake, exhaust, intercooling, and tuning logic are fundamentally different from any prior Tundra generation, which means the aftermarket parts ecosystem is being rebuilt from scratch.
