Dowel pins and Ring dowel pins play a very important part in an engine build. If not utilized, they can lead to devastating problems with endless headaches. The tolerances on these pins are measured in thousandths of an inch to make absolutely sure that the two parts are exactly aligned. You could easily do a lot of damage to an engine without the dowels installed. Examples of what could happen if not utilized are coolant passages might not line up correctly, fire rings on the cylinders may not seal, the heads could potentially move around under load and the differences in metal expansion from heat. These Ring Dowel Pins are utilized in main cap installations and rocker arm assembly mounting. Don’t find yourself assembling the top end without these, make sure to grab them today. You will need (5) per each cylinder head.
