LCE Rear U-Bolt Flip Kit

(1979-1995 Pickup / 1984-1995 4Runner)

Introducing another addition to our lineup that you've all been eagerly awaiting! If you've been keeping tabs on our Project 85' build, you might have spotted our specially designed U-Bolt Flip Kit in action. And guess what? Now you can have one for yourself! But what does a U-Bolt Flip Kit do, you ask? Well, it's a game-changer for your off-road adventures. Traditional U-bolts face downwards, becoming potential snag points for rocks and trail debris. Our innovative U-Bolt Flip Kits redirect the spring bolt upwards and out of harm's way, offering enhanced ground clearance and minimizing damage to the threaded section of the bolt. Crafted with precision, these kits feature 9/16" U-Bolts perfectly matched to the axle tube (a notable improvement over square U-Bolts in other kits) and a chamfered bottom plate to avoid cutting into your leaf pack. Grab a set for yourself today.

Kit Contains

  • (2) Flip Plates

SAFETY FIRST

  • 1. Work from a flat solid surface.
  • 2. Set parking brake and chock tires.
  • 3. Support vehicle with quality jack stands.

  • NOTE: FABRICATION AND WELDING ARE REQUIRED!

This kit requires the rear lower shock mounts to be relocated to the axle housing. It is possible to retain the upper mounts and add only new lowers or you can switch the upper to an inboard setup for better articulation. Care must be taken not to damage any brake lines and to confirm proper shock lengths are used.

  • 1. Jack up the rear of your truck and support with jack stands under the frame.
  • 2. Remove the wheels and tires.
  • 3. While supporting the axle with a floor jack, remove the original U-Bolts and plates. (Recommend doing 1 side at a time)
  • 4. Install the U-Bolts and plates.
  • 5. Torque U-Bolts to 90Ft. Lbs. Tighten in a cross pattern.
  • 6. Install the bump stops using 3/8" bolts and washers provided.
  • 7. New fabricated shock mounts will need to be installed to the axle.
  • 8. Make sure brake lines are not damaged during the installation/welding of the lower shock mounts. It is possible the brake lines may need to be relocated for proper clearance.
  • 9. Install wheels and tires.

  • IMPORTANT:

It is very important to torque the U-Bolts to 90 Ft. Lbs. using a quality torque wrench. It is also important to re-torque them after the first 500 miles of driving.
