Our new ULTIMATE Lift ND Hood Strut Kit for 1st Gen (’84-89) 4Runners and ’84-88 Toyota Pickups eliminates the prop rod and makes your engine compartment free and clear of obstacles.
The “ND″ (“No-Drill″) series of hood strut kits are 100% bolt-on, with no drilling required and no permanent alterations to your truck. This makes installation a breeze, and is completely reversible should you choose to remove the hood struts at a later point.
One-handed hood opening and closing â€" the struts lift the hood smoothly to its fully open position, and allow it to close and latch securely without slamming.
Kit comes complete with premium OEM-quality components, including two enameled gloss black hood struts, heavy gauge black powder coated brackets, all required installation hardware including our innovative “SlotLOK″ nutplates for the hood, and illustrated step-by-step installation instructions.

I’ve been wanting something like this for a long time. All I could ever find were universal struts that required drilling and other modifications. These Spiker struts were specifically designed for my 1987 Toyota pickup and were extremely easy to install with no modifications at all. Glad to be rid of the support rod!
