LCE Trail-Creeper Ring & Pinion Gear Set | 8" V6 & Turbo

Experience championship-winning reliability with the Trail-Creeper Ring & Pinion Gear Set. Engineered to dominate the most punishing terrain, these gears have been proven on the world-class W.W. Rock circuit and some of the most grueling off-road courses on the planet. Whether you're building a dedicated rock crawler or an overland-ready daily driver, Trail Creeper gears provide the ultimate combination of strength, quiet operation, and precision.

Advanced Engineering & Materials

  • 8620 Tool-Grade Steel: Forged from premium 8620alloy and heat-treated for maximum surface hardness and impact resistance.
  • Gleason CNC Technology: Utilizing industry-leading Gleason CNC hobbing machines, these gears feature an unprecedented level of accuracy. The superior surface finish allows for higher torque transmission and improved fuel efficiency.
  • Quiet & Efficient: The precision-cut teeth ensure a quieter-running gear set compared to standard aftermarket options, making them ideal for vehicles that see significant street use.

The Importance of Re-Gearing

When you increase your tire size, you effectively change your final drive ratio. Moving from a 30" tire to a 35" tire creates roughly 17% change, often dropping the engine out of its optimal power band. Re-gearing restores lost torque and horsepower, ensuring your Toyota remains capable on the trail and efficient on the highway.

Recommended Ratios for Toyota Trucks:

  • 4.88 Gears: The preferred choice for 33" tires to restore factory-spec performance.
  • 5.9 Gears: Essential for 35" tires and larger to maximize low-end crawl power.

Technical Specifications

  • Application: Toyota 8" V6 and Turbo Differential Housings
  • Material: 8620 Tool-Grade Steel.
  • Compatibility: Designed for the heavier-duty 3-pinion bearing housings found in v6 and turbo models.

-Tech Tip: Gear ratio is calculated by dividing the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the pinion. A higher numerical ratio (like 5.29) provides more mechanical advantage, making it easier for your engine to turn larger, heavier off-road tires.

    • 1986-1995 Toyota 8" V6 and Turbo rear differential housings.
