The second-generation Toyota Pickup ran from 1972 through 1978 in the U.S. market and is among the most-collected vintage Toyota trucks today. Most surviving examples carry the 20R 2.2-liter inline-four (introduced for the 1975 model year) or the earlier 18R-C 2.0-liter. The 22R and 22RE engines arrived in the next generation, so most 2nd-gen restoration work centers on the 20R and 18R-C platforms.
