The Toyota Trekker (1981–1983) is one of the rarest production vehicles Toyota ever sold in the U.S. market. It was built in partnership with Winnebago Industries — Winnebago took short-bed 1st gen Toyota Pickups and converted them into enclosed SUVs with fiberglass camper-style tops. The Trekker was the proof-of-concept that led Toyota to launch the dedicated 4Runner nameplate in 1984 with a factory-built version of the same idea.
Surviving Trekkers carry the 22R 2.4-liter carbureted four-cylinder — the same engine LCE has been building 22R/22RE parts for since 1985. Our 22R catalog applies directly to Trekker engine work: long blocks, rebuild kits, Weber carburetor conversions, header kits, and OEM-spec replacement components. For body, suspension, and the Winnebago-specific fiberglass components, our technical team can help source or fabricate parts that are no longer available through standard channels.
