Emissions First

The legal position narrows your choices before performance does.

The LCE Street Header Kit is 50 state legal up to 1999. It fits through 2004, but the legal coverage stops at 1999.

Converters are 47 state — free-flow stainless with direct-fit flanges, in 17.5" x 2.25", 12.5" x 2" and 12.5" x 2.25". None are legal in California, Colorado or New York.

Test pipes replace the converter entirely — off-road and competition use only. Available in 17.5" and 12.5" lengths.

If you are in a CARB state, the 2RZ exhaust options are genuinely limited. Talk to us before ordering rather than after.

Cat-Back

The Pro Flow Exhaust System is built for the 2WD Tacoma — check that before ordering, because the 2RZ was predominantly a two-wheel-drive engine and the system is routed for it.

It uses 409 stainless tubing with a 426 stainless straight-through MagnaFlow muffler and 3/8" flanges. The straight-through design flows more than a chambered muffler while keeping a tone that does not attract attention.

Swaps

Putting a 2RZ into an older truck? The engine swap header was developed for a newer RZ engine in an older Toyota Pickup or 4Runner, where nothing off the shelf lines up.

Hardware

Most header complaints are hardware complaints.

The factory manifold studs have a shoulder in the middle that can stop a header pulling down properly. Our header stud set is 10mm x 1.25 x 48mm, heat treated, with eight studs and eight locking nuts. Torque to 33 ft-lb, short side into the head.

Use factory-style gaskets, not paper. All LCE headers are designed around the factory gasket, and the stainless OEM-style gasket outlasts a paper one by a wide margin. The street header gasket set covers the whole job.

Fabricating your own? The 1 5/8" CNC flange is the same one we use building headers in house — 1/2" thick with a groove cut on the head side for better weld penetration.

Tell us your state and model year and we will tell you what you can actually fit.
