Our RZ supercharger kits have been redesigned around a new charger body. The MP62 has been replaced by the TVS 900 — more efficient, more power, better cooling, and still C.A.R.B. legal in the smog-legal configurations.
That matters in two directions. If you are buying new, you are getting the updated package. And if you are already running a previous-generation charger, this is a genuine upgrade rather than a replacement — it was developed with existing owners in mind as well as new ones.
We sell both, so here is the honest distinction.
A supercharger is belt driven from the crankshaft, which means boost arrives with engine speed rather than with exhaust flow. There is no spool, no lag and no waiting — you get more torque from idle all the way to redline.
For a truck that tows, passes, carries weight or runs larger tyres, that low-speed torque is the thing you actually feel. A turbo will make more peak power. A supercharger makes the truck nicer to drive every single day, and it does it without putting a red-hot turbine in your engine bay.
If peak power is the goal, go to Turbo Kits & Parts instead.
This is decided by your model year and it is not optional:
Count the intake runners where they meet the head if you are not sure which you have.
Read this carefully, because the emissions position is narrower than people expect:
If your truck has to pass a visual or C.A.R.B. inspection, the low boost kit for your year is the only option. We would rather tell you that now than sell you a kit you cannot register.
A smaller pulley spins the blower faster and makes more boost. That is the whole mechanism, and it is why the pulley is what separates a smog-legal kit from a high boost one.
Important: these pulleys are listed for MP62 supercharger bodies. If you are ordering a current TVS 900 kit, talk to us before buying a pulley separately.
The bracket kit includes the L bracket, straight bracket and all hardware, and fits TRD, Alpine or LC Engineering superchargers — useful if you are fitting a second-hand charger or moving one between trucks.
The lower supercharger manifold is the bottom half of the intake for RZ supercharger kits.
Service items: the bypass valve for kits running the Magnuson blower unit — the part that lets the engine breathe normally off boost — and the 4-rib drive belt, which is a sensible spare to carry.
Start with a healthy engine. Boost finds every weakness a tired engine has. If yours is high mileage or has been using oil, a rebuild or a fresh long block first will cost less than a supercharger fitted to a worn bottom end.
Deal with the balance shafts while you are in there. They are the one common bottom end issue on this engine — see Rebuild Kits.
Not sure which kit your truck takes, or whether it will still pass inspection? Send us the year, model and state and we will tell you exactly which kit is legal for you.
