Unlike factory plastic or rubber plugs that shrink, harden, and leak oil over time, these billet half moons are engineered for maximum durability and a flawless seal. Precision-machined from high-quality aluminum, they provide a sleek, high-end finished look that perfectly complements any clean engine bay, whether you're performing a routine gasket refresh or a full concourse restoration.

Tech & Installation Notes

Fitment Adjustments: Due to factory casting variations in vintage Toyota cylinder heads, these billet half moons may require minor filling along the inner top edge to achieve a perfect, flush fit. This slight modification can easily be done with a small hand file during test-fitting.

Recommended Installation Steps:

• Test Fit: Insert the half moons dry to verify they sit flush and clear the head casting. File the inner top edge slightly if needed. 
• Apply Sealant: Once properly fitted, apply a thin, consistent bead of high-quality RTV Silicone along the bottom sealing edge.
• Immediately Assembly: Install and torque down the valve cover immediately after positioning the half moons. The clamping force  of the valve cover ensures the half moons are held securely in place and aligned perfectly while the silicone cures.
