Carburetion Is the Heart of This Catalog

The second-gen Celica ran the 20R through 1980 and the 22R from 1981, both carbureted. The factory Aisan carburetor was built for emissions compliance rather than power, and replacing it is the single biggest change available on these cars. This is territory LC Engineering has worked in since 1985.

Weber Sidedraft Kits

For a serious build, dual sidedrafts are the traditional answer and still the most effective. We build complete kits with the manifold, linkage and jetting sorted:

Size down rather than up if the engine is otherwise stock. A 45mm on a standard 22R gives away low-speed drivability for top-end the engine cannot use.

Single-Carb Conversion Packages

If you want a straightforward, drivable improvement rather than a project, the progressive Weber packages are the better route — they include the carburetor, intake manifold and hardware:

The 32/36 is progressive — it opens the second barrel only under load, so it keeps fuel economy and cold-start manners. The 38 is a synchronous twin-barrel and makes more power at the cost of both. For a street Celica the 32/36 is usually the right call.

Forced Induction

Our Celica supercharger kits are built around the carburetor already fitted, which is why inlet choice matters:

Match the inlet to the carburetor you are running or intend to run. Turbo options are in Celica turbo kits, and intake manifolds on their own are under carb intake manifolds.

Complete Packages and the Rest of the Car

Our performance kits bundle the common combinations if you would rather buy one part number than assemble a build from pieces. Beyond the engine, browse exhaust, drivetrain, cooling and electrical.
