LCE Dual-Axle Differential Breather Relocation Kit

Protect your drivetrain from water contamination and premature seal failure with the LCE Differential Breather Kit. In any 4WD vehicle, drivetrain assemblies like differentials, transmissions, and transfer cases generate heat during operation, causing internal air to expand and build pressure. Conversely, rapid cooling-such as during a water crossing-creates a vacuum.

The "problem" with factory breathers is their low-mounted, one-way valves; when submerged, the resulting vacuum can suck water and debris directly through your seals and into the assembly. The LCE Solution relocates your vent intake to a higher, protected position in the engine bay or chassis, ensuring your drivetrain breathes clean, dry air even during deep water crossings or muddy trail runs.

Features & Benefits

  • Complete Protection: Prevents water and contaminants from being drawn into your axle housings, protecting gear oil integrity and bearing life.
  • Vacuum-Proof Design: Replaces restrictive factory one-way valves with a high-flow, filtered system that allows for two-way pressure equalization.
  • Universal Application: Specifically designed to accommodate both front and rear differentials or other drivetrain components like transfer cases.
  • High Quality Components: Features "Push-Lock" and AN-style fittings for a secure, leak-proof connection that stands up to vibration and off-road abuse.
  • Durable Construction: Includes high-pressure hose and dedicated filters to keep dust and grit out of your gear sets.

Kit Contents

  • (2) High Efficiency Air Filters: Protects the vent line intake from dust and debris.
  • (2) Precision Push-Lock Fittings: For easy, secure hose attachment.
  • (2) An-Style Adapter Fittings: Ensures a professional, threaded connection to the housing,
  • 5ft of 1/4 High-Pressure Hose: Provides ample length for remote mounting in a high, dry location.

Technical & Installation Note

  • Dual Axle Support: This kit includes enough components to protect two separate assemblies (e.g., Front and Rear Differentials).
  • Fitment: Compatible with most Toyota, Dana and aftermarket axle housings. Always verify your housing's thread pitch before installing the provided AN adapters.
  • Routing Tip: When installing, ensure the hose is routed with enough "slack" to account for full suspension travel (droop) to prevent the line from being pulled tight or disconnected during off-roading.

Installation Pro-Tips

  • Check the Slack: After routing, have a friend help you verify the hose isn't pulled tight when the suspension is fully extended.
  • Clean Threads: Ensure the differential housing area is clean before removing the factory vent to prevent dirt from falling into your gear oil.

LCE Differential Breather Installation Guide

This kit relocates your front and rear differential breathers to a high point on the vehicle frame, protecting your axles from water and mud during off-road use.

Kit Contents

  • (2) Air Filters
  • (2) Push-Lock Fittings
  • (2) AN Adapter Fittings
  • 5" High-Pressure Hose

Step-by-Step Installation

  • Remove Factory Vents: Unscrew the stock breather fittings from the top of your front and rear differential housings.
  • Install Adapters: Apply thread sealant to the tapered end of the steel AN adapters and thread them into the differentials.
  • Attach Fittings: Thread the 45-degree Push-Lock fittings onto the adapters and tighten securely.
  • Connect Hose: Push the 1/4" hose onto the fitting until it bottoms out against the plastic ring.
      • Tech Tip: Use a heat gun to soften the hose end and a drop of light oil on the fitting to make the install much easier.
  • Route & Secure: Run the hose upward to a high, dry location on the frame. Secure with zip ties, ensuring you leave enough slack to allow for full suspension trave (droop).
  • Finish: Cut the hose to length and install the filters on the ends to keep out dust and debris.
