Weber Brass Float
This is an OEM-quality brass replacement float specifically designed for Weber carburetors. The float lives inside the carburetor's fuel bowl and regulates the amount of fuel allowed into the chamber before it is metered into the engine.
Key Technical Details & Functions
- Fuel Level Regulation: As fuel enters the carburetor bowl, the brass float rises. Once the fuel reaches the correct operating level, the float tang pushes against the needle valve to shut off the fuel flow, preventing the carburetor from flooding.
Brass Construction Advantages
- Modern Fuel Resistance: Unlike older plastic or foam floats, brass does not absorb modern ethanol-blended fuels (like E10 or E15), which can cause synthetic materials to degrade, become waterlogged, and sink over time.
- Durability: Highly resistant to chemical corrosion and temperature fluctuations inside the engine bay, ensuring a stable buoyancy profile over years of service.
- Compatibility: This specific part number is commonly used in classic Weber progressive and dual-barrel carburetors (such as the DGV, DGAV, and DGEV series), which are popular aftermarket upgrades for vintage Toyota trucks (like the 20R and 22R engines).
